- "Included on the National Register of Historic Places, the Clarke County Historical Museum is a treasure trove of local history..." Note: Nearly half of the men in the 38th came from this area of Alabama. Members of Companies A, D, and I hailed from Clarke County. Co. B was comprised mostly of Wilcox County men while Co. C soldiers were from Mobile and Choctaw Counties.
