Biography


Arthur "Art" E. Green was born in Dallas County, Alabama, in 1937. He worked for over 30 years at the Port of Mobile where he retired as manager of a bulk ship unloading facility.

Art is active in historical, genealogical, and heritage associations. He is especially proud that his grandfather, John C. Green, served in Company B of the 38th Alabama Infantry. More about John C. Green.

Art has had published four books about Alabama regiments:

Southerners at War - the 38th Alabama Infantry Volunteers,
Gracie's Pride - the 43rd Alabama Infantry Volunteers,
Too Little Too Late - the 63rd Alabama Infantry, and
Southern Boots and Saddles - the 15th Confederate Cavalry.

He is married to a native Mobilian Karen Harvey Green. He has two adult children and two grandchildren and currently resides in Mobile, Alabama.
